A stunning and rare example of one of the most exclusive and expensive prestige cars of its era, owned by the likes of Peter Sellers and Elton Jon. A copy of the original purchase invoice is present, showing a cost new of just over £8k, when a DB5 at the time was £4200. Supplied new to Lord Arnold Weinstock, of GEC and Ferranti fame, one of the country’s leading industrialists of that period. Remarkably the car has remained in the same family ownership for 51 years. A full engine and running gear overhaul took place in 2000 at approximately 80k miles, and a total body and interior restoration at 100k miles, resulting in a car with exceptionally straight body panels and shut gaps all round. Recently a major mechanical refreshment has been carried out. This included overhaul of brakes, fitting of handling pack, new tyres all round, ignition system upgrade to electronic, new HT leads and overhaul of hydraulic hood pump and rams. The car has covered around 4000 trouble free miles since, and drives as tight and smooth as it would have at 2 years old. The original exterior colour of James Young Blue has been retained, trimmed in Cognac leather with Burr Walnut cappings. The car retains its complete set of original tools, large and small, dashboard hand lamp, original hand books and factory sales brochure. A superb additional touch is a rare 1960,s Bentley factory supplied Touring Kit, containing a full set of gaskets, brake hoses, valve springs, even down to cigar lighter elements, still in its original hand crafted case. Chassis number BC152XC is a matching numbers car, retaining all its original panel work and running gear, resulting in a car that has to be one of the nicest offered on the market today, for the first time in 56 years ! May P/X (Registration excluded) , £345,000
