1966 Aston Martin DB6 Vantage finished in Aegean Blue with New Connolly hide interior using Vaumol hides in Oatmeal with best quality, Navy blue, Wilton carpet throughout. Built in the second year of manufacture, replacing the ever popular but far more expensive DB5, made eternally famous by Ian Fleming’s 007 James Bond. The DB6 scores over the DB5 in many ways, not least of which as it is noticeably roomier inside, being able to accommodate the driver and 3 adult passengers in great comfort at a considerably reduced noise level.
This lovely Aston Martin DB6 Vantage has been in the same ownership for more than 30 years and is now only for sale due to bereavement. During his ownership the previous custodian made it his all-consuming hobby to have the car restored to a very high standard, but sadly he did not live to see it finished. We have been fortunate to have purchased this DB6 Vantage where all the hard restoration work had already been done and we will have completed the job to the same exacting standards before the end of April 2024. The car has been the subject of a back to metal re-paint and benefits from a Webasto sunroof with West of England Cloth headlining and a desirable 5 speed manual gearbox. Within the vast history file there is evidence of a complete engine rebuild about 16,000 miles ago and the engine holds makers oil pressure and ticks over like a Swiss Watch. Almost every other mechanical component has been replaced during the restoration as can be seen in invoices covering a 30 year period.
According to period Aston Martin advertising, it was claimed that in Vantage specification the car will go from zero to 70 MPH in 7.4 seconds which was exceptional at the time. Extremely good value for a fully Rebuilt Aston Martin DB6 Vantage at £310,000
