EXTERIOR
This is the modern tribute to the artistry and innovation that defined the legendary Porsche 550 Spyder; agile, elegant and lightweight. The Basalt Black Metallic paintwork shows consistently well throughout with a broad silver metallic flake that shimmers beautifully in direct light. PPF is in place to protect the lower half of the bonnet although a dusting of stone chips are present on the top half commensurate with age and mileage.
Spyder features include lower and thus lighter side windows, new front bumper with LED lights, black mesh inserts for the side intakes a high-level third brake light and a larger fixed rear spoiler. Weight saving was at the heart of this model and Porsche removed the heavy mechanical auto folding roof and replaced it with a manual folding fabric roof; saving a whopping 21kg.
Paint Protection Film was applied in 2013, with front bumper, bonnet, mirrors, inner front arches, inner rear arches, lower skirts and headlights all protected against everyday dirt and grime.
INTERIOR
The optional Carbon bucket seats strike a perfect blend of style and comfort with leather and alcantara; all important weight saving items that shave off another 12kg. The interior leather package wraps around the dashboard and door cards providing a premium feel while the gearbox tunnel accentuates the cabin contour well. Contrasting red belts, door pulls and unique sill strips illustrate the lightweight designation of this Spyder special.
Specification includes Sound Package Plus, Leather dashboard and door cards, rear park assist and universal audio interface whilst Cruise control and Sport Chrono Plus were retrofitted in 2013.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
At the heart of the Boxster’s lies it’s namesake boxer engine – the 3.4 has real character with a distinct sound that gets better the higher you climb the rev range. The switchable sports exhaust amplifies the six cylinder warble beautifully, nestled snugly into the rear bumper arrangement.
The partnership between steering and drivetrain retains a deeply impressive feel; this really is an incredibly accomplished car that is approachable and rewarding in equal measure. The 7 speed PDK is incredibly broad in operation with either lightning fast shifts or seemless cruising capability.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The 19-inch Ultra-lightweight BBS alloy wheels specially designed for the Boxster Spyder (which save 10kg each) present in very good condition, wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 with all four corner showing plenty of tread left.
Uprated 6-pot GT3 brakes enhance stopping power with discs and pads showing plenty of material left.
HISTORY FILE
This C16 UK Boxster Spyder was delivered to Porsche Centre Nottingham in May 2010. The car was serviced with the main dealer every 2 years up until 2016 before being brought into a collection. Having covered minimal mileage in the last few years, the car received an oil change in 2019 and at 23,600 Miles the car has just received a major service at an OPC.
Over the years this lightweight open top has received some upgrades including retro-fIt Sports Chrono Plus, GT3 brakes and suspension as well as PPF applied to the car in 2013 protecting the most vulnerable areas from everyday use.
The original book pack is complete with original service book, V5, invoices and spare key.
