Als je het woord Corvette hoort, denk je gelijk aan Amerikaanse sportauto's, snelheid, of misschien wel aan de C8. Het gaat hier om een iets minder nieuwe. Namelijk zijn over, over, over, over, over, over, overgrootvader. De C1. Dit was het begin van de Corvette, een begin van een legendarische reeks. In 1953 werd de eerste full-concept tentoongesteld op GM's (General Motors) Motorama in New York’s Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Januari. Vervolgens in datzelfde jaar in Juni, rolde het officiële 1e exemplaar voor productie van de band af. In december begon de productie van het 1954 model in de assemblagefabriek in St.Louis, Missouri. In totaal zijn er door de jaren heen 69.015 exemplaren van de Corvette C1 gebouwd.

Dit exemplaar komt uit de Verenigde Staten. New Jersey om precies te zijn. Daarvan is de inspectie-sticker op de voorruit en de kopie 'Certificate of Title' uit New Jersey aanwezig. In november 2022 werd hij voor het eerst op Nederlands kenteken geregistreerd.
Onder de motorkap ligt een krachtige 283CI 4.6 liter 'small block' V8 met de meer betrouwbare en gewilde carburateur, goed voor 220 pk bij 4600 toeren en een koppel van 407 Nm bij 3000 toeren. Hieraan gekoppeld, is de optionele handgeschakelde 4-versnellingsbak wat zorgt voor een authentieke rijervaring. Deze Corvette wordt geleverd met zowel een witte hardtop als een witte soft-top, zodat je kunt rijden in alle weersomstandigheden.
Deze Corvette is mooi origineel bewaard gebleven en goed onderhouden. Documentatie is aanwezig, waaronder een oude New Jersey titel, invoerdocumenten en diverse facturen.
