One of the last right-hand drive Ghiblis, chassis AM115/47*2474* was built in February 1972. It was imported through the Maserati importer of the time, Citroen Cars and first registered in the UK in June that year to Citroen themselves as a demonstrator, which was then sold to the first of six private owners in December that year.

The original colour scheme was as it is today, “Giallo” yellow exterior with black Connolly leather interior. There were only 29 right-hand drive Ghibli coupés ever made and this is the second from last 4.7 litre version of 13 that came to the UK.

As a late car, it benefits from the ZF hydraulic power steering and the last series dashboard, both desirable features. Standard specification includes 5-speed ZF manual gearbox, electric windows and air conditioning. It also benefits from a replacement good quality stainless steel exhaust system.

We first saw this car in 2000 and in 2001 carried out an engine rebuild. It’s early ownership history is all known and there is good service history from 2000 to date. The body has clearly been repainted and there are some invoices for minor rust removal work in the past. It is presentable as an older restoration. The front seats have been retrimmed and the carpets replaced, which blend in with the original remainder of the interior. However, overall this car remains very original and with matching numbers.

The current owner bought it in August 2023 and has since then spent a total of £37,000 with us recommissioning and improving the car with a mixture of mechanical and electrical work. From 2000 to now the car has covered less than 5000 miles and therefore it is likely that the recorded mileage of 36,000 is genuine.

Used regularly in the current owner’s hands, this Ghibli is “on the button” and ready to use. It is being offered for sale now at the very realistic price , call us for more details
