1954 Jaguar XK120 FHC finished in Pale metallic blue. Only on the market due to the bereavement of a close friend and neighbour and a very capable restorer of fine motor cars. Although this was an ongoing project prior to the owner becoming too ill to complete the task, over the past 18 months we have now completed the restoration. The body shell, now fully re-painted is completely free of any corrosion and most of the mechanical parts have undergone either replacement or complete refurbishment. The engine has been completely rebuilt and the original Moss box has been replaced with an all synchro 5 speed alternative. New disc brakes and callipers are fitted to both front and rear and new springs and shock absorbers are fitted all round. The rear springs are also correctly leather bound which is something rarely seen in this day and age. The car has had the benefit of a complete re-trim using best quality Connelly Vaumol hides and Wilton carpet throughout. All of the woodwork has been re-veneered to the highest standard and the dashboard has been completely reassembled with newly refurbished gauges and a new wiring loom and has also been fitted. Non-standard but period upgrades include a stainless steel exhaust system, a louvered bonnet and a Le Mans style filler cap and the rear bulkhead has been scalloped out by "Leaping Cats" so that the driver's seat now extends backwards a further 4" with individual bucket seats now fitted, hence now suitable for the taller driver . This restoration has been a rare and exciting project and the finished article is the result of hundreds of hours of diligent workmanship. The car now on offer is a very attractive and collectable motor car with sensible upgrades that is bound to appreciate and will be huge fun to drive. Please note that whilst this car was repatriated from America back in 2002 and purchased from Jaguar XK specialists Twyford Moors, it is a far cry from the frequently offered imported rot boxes where much of the body work is only fit for replacement. The pictures shown here have been taken in January of 2022 but we have many more taken during the restoration which we are happy to share with prospective customers. We are currently in the process of obtaining a UK registration and the eventual sale price is something we will be happy to discuss with genuinely interested potential purchasers.
